The Sew What Table (SWT) hosts several fundraising events each year to benefit the Coachella Valley Quilt Guild. The Guild uses these funds to promote an appreciation of quilting, preserve the heritage of this timeless folk art, and further the education and skills of its members.
SWT accepts donations of fabric, quilts, sewing notions, machines, sewing furniture, books, patterns, and magazines. Each donated item is carefully examined and priced for resale at our scheduled events throughout the year.
Great finds at great prices! All items are priced at least 50% below retail, making the Sew What Table a wonderful resource for quilters, sewists, and fabric arts enthusiasts.
Our events are staffed entirely by Guild volunteers and are open to the public. Everyone is welcome!

Do you have fabric, quilting supplies, sewing machines, books, or other sewing-related items you no longer need? Consider donating them to the Sew What Table!
We welcome donations of items that can be used for sewing, quilting, or other fabric arts. Your donations help us stock our fundraising sales and support the Coachella Valley Quilt Guild's educational and community programs.

Many Hands Make the Sew What Table Possible!
The Sew What Table is 100% volunteer-run and staffed. Our fundraising events depend on the time, energy, and dedication of volunteers who help make every sale a success.
There are many ways to get involved, and there's a role for everyone!
What Do Our Volunteers Do?
Prepare Donations
-
Measure, examine, roll, and tie donated fabric to ensure customers know exactly what they are purchasing.

Evaluate and price incoming sewing machines.
-
Examine, sort, and price sewing notions and other donated items.
Prepare for Events
-
Load merchandise onto the truck the day before a sale.
-
Unload the truck and organize merchandise at the event location.
-
Help arrange the displays so shoppers can easily find what they need.
Help on Sale Day
-
Assist shoppers and help keep the sale running smoothly.

Support the quilt auction, Silent Auction, and merchandise sales.

Pack up unsold items and return them to storage after the event.
Enjoy the Fellowship
Once the work is done, volunteers often gather at a local restaurant to share a meal, celebrate the day's successes, discuss improvements, and enjoy each other's company.
Volunteering is a wonderful way to meet fellow sewing and quilting enthusiasts, share your skills, and support the Coachella Valley Quilt Guild.
