Project FTF--Finish the Flimsy*

A few weeks ago the guild received a donation of approximately 35 quilt tops that needed to be made into quilts.  These tops in addition to others that have been received by Philanthropy, created a large backlog of 45+ quilts to complete.  As a result Treese has created kits with tops, batting, backing and binding of lap size or smaller quilts. She needs help from guild members to finish these charity quilts.

There are larger size quilts that are available for the long arm quilters in the guild as well.

  • Kit includes top, batting, backing and binding
  • Can be hand tied, machine tacked or machine quilted
  • Can easily be completed using a home sewing machine
  • We have volunteers who can bind the quilts
  • When finished, please wash
  • Return finished tops to Hilda Koning-Bastiaan, Philanthropy Chair, or Treese Pflum, President at drop off date and locations or guild meetings

New! Fidget Quilts!
Philanthropy has added a new quilt project to donate to our hospice charities.  Fidget quilts are used by individuals suffering from Alzheimer's and dementia.  They are small lightly quilted pieces to fit in the lap and allow the recipient to keep their hands busy touching and playing with items on the quilt. This is a fast and simple project that can help you use up those scraps and leftover embellishments.  The guild has some fabrics, batting and embellishments available for you to use.
Instructions can be found in the pdf file below.  Please contact Treese Pflum by email: 2quiltnutz@gmail.com or by cell (760)799-3405.
