Desert Guilds Quilt Show 2024
The biennial Desert Guilds Quilt Show put on by Coachella Valley, Cactus SewAbles and Pass Patchers was held on March 1 & 2 at the Pavilion in Palm Springs. Hopefully you got a chance to see the wonderful quilts displayed and to vote on your favorite quilt. The vendors had a wide assortment of items for sale which is always fun to browse. New this year was a demonstration area where 7 guild members of the three guilds showed attendees a variety of techniques. It turned out to be quite a popular activity.

Challenge -- Opposites Attract!
Top Three Challenge Quilts Receiving The Most Votes at February Guild Meeting!
CVQG members who decided to accept the Desert Guilds Quilt Show Challenge of Opposites Attract brought there finished quilts to our February meeting. Challenge Chair, Robert Tucker, along with Patricia Young and Cheryl Quesnell set up a display of the quilts so that members could vote on the quilt of their choice. This voting is done without knowing who the maker of the quilt is.
After tallying the votes the guild members who received the top three number of votes were:
Cheryl Quesnell -- Red -- a portrait of her daughter
Kathy Dunham -- Aquarius
Kelley Bachli -- Untitled
All of the entered challenges will be displayed at the Desert Guilds Quilt Show on Friday, March 1 and Saturday, March 2 -- 10am to 4pm.
